Gold had many meanings in Japanese painting, above and beyond its decorative value. Meanings that will be explored in this conference.
The speaker, Professor Kanō Hiroyuki, will introduce attendees to the painting of the Momoyama period (1573-1615) and the early Edo period (1615-1700). Hardly anything from these periods has ever been seen in Spain until now: and they are nothing short of spectacular!
