For anyone who doesn’t yet know what Hot Movies is all about, let’s just say that it takes typical summer films and adds music, commentary and humour so that the audience can feel free to comment on the film out loud with their table companion.
On this occasion, the commentator will be Samantha Ballentines, a prominent figure in the Spanish drag scene, comedian and multidisciplinary humourist, who will be subjecting Roger Kumble’s 2002 film, The Sweetest Thing to a thorough analysis. We can’t wait to hear what she has to say about this mixture of a road movie and an ode to friendship, which stars Cameron Díaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair.
The musical accompaniment for this film, which despite being a box office flop that was panned by critics, ended up becoming a cult classic, will be provided by writer Diana Aller, who is also known for her facet as a disc jockey and for her contribution to the music scene.
