Workshop 1 - Dance

After working with children for several years, the Swiss company (La) Rue Serendip has developed a way to help them find their freedom and confidence through an improvised dance they call "dance points". In this their first visit to Madrid, the company will devote a morning to experimenting with "these dance points" through a series of playful tasks that will help the children taking part in the workshop to find the freedom latent in their bodies and in the way they move.

An all-round sportsman, Tristan Bénon has been passionate about movement since he was a child. After taking a master’s degree in Adapted Physical Activities and Health at the University of Lausanne, he worked for several years as a sports and social educator, primarily with people with disabilities and young people from difficult backgrounds. In the autumn of 2015, he joined the professional programme of the SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Dance Academy). He now divides his time between his career as a dancer-performer and his many commitments as an educator. He tends to use dance as a tool for integration, inclusion and personal development in different scenarios.
