Pièce de Poche

Dancers Tristan Bénon (Switzerland) and Prunelle Bry (New Caledonia) teamed up a few years ago to create (La) Rue Serendip, a contemporary dance company based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, whose main aim in life is to bring dance and physical expression in general to a wide audience without easy access to either, through mediation activities and creative processes.

In Pièce de Poche, Bénon and Bry seek to allow bodies to say more about emotions than words could ever say, through two people who keep bumping into one another until they forge a relationship through movement and glances. Ideas, perceptions and habits collide, and what they have to do is find a way through them, find a place, go their own way, or let themselves be seduced.

The sometimes absurd situations in which this pair finds themselves reveal, in a kind and funny way, our mechanisms for living together. (La) Rue Serendip likes to combine contemporary dance with circus acts and music, making the most of open-air public spaces to unfold their playful universe for everyone to enjoy.

Accessible to all audiences, from the very young to the more experienced, this work opens up to all horizons and welcomes with open arms those who wish to surrender to it.
