YOLANDA OSUNA

Although this professional flamenco dancer has an extensive background in several special categories of Spanish dance (stylised, folklore, flamenco, classical and boleras), her career largely focused on flamenco. A graduate in Dance Pedagogy and currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Choreography and Performance, she uses improvisation to integrate the plastic arts, technology, the performing arts, performance art, clowning and transmission. She has worked with companies of renown such as Paco Peña, SO-LA-NA and Javier Latorre, and has toured Spain and overseas, performing in prestigious theatres and at important festivals. She has also collaborated in flamenco productions and in conferences on flamenco fashion.

She has directed and choreographed her own “Osuna de la Rosa” Flamenco Laboratory since 2001, and has worked in leading tablaos in Seville and Madrid. She has created innovative shows that combine flamenco with other art forms and technologies, and performed as a soloist all over the world, including Brazil, New York, Taiwan and Japan. As a teacher, she has given flamenco curses and participated in didactic conferences for educational institutions, among which her collaboration with the Regional Government of Andalusia is of particular note.
