Daniel Casares

Guitar

Daniel Casares

At the age of sixteen, he won the prestigious Bordón Minero award at the La Unión Festival, becoming the youngest guitarist ever to win this award, to date. When he was nineteen, he won the National Guitar Award in Jaen, which allowed him to record his first album, ‘Duende Flamenco”.

The Malaga-born guitarist has presented projects such as The Moon of Alexandra with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra, and PICASSARES, his sixth album, a tribute to the painter Pablo Picasso in which he returns to his most flamenco essence.

Daniel Casares has collaborated with a countless number of other artists of recognised prestige such as Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Poveda, Dulce Pontes, Pasión Vega, Toquinho, Antonio Orozco, José Mercé, among others. As a result of these collaborations, Alejandro Sanz became the editor of his fifth album, The Water Thief. He is one of today’s most internationally renowned flamenco guitarists. His musical universe embraces the purity of classics such as Niño Ricardo or the revolution started by Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla, and international pop-rock and R&B icons such as Sting or Sade.
