Nazaret Reyes

Nazaret Reyes, a young dancer from Seville, is the daughter of the dancers Cristóbal Reyes and Juana Amaya. Her mother began giving her dance lessons when she was barely 5 and by the time she was 11, she was dancing in the show “Carmen Amaya. Evocations”, directed by Pilar Távora for the Seville Flamenco Biennial at the Teatro Lope de Vega, sharing the role of Carmen with her mother Juana and sharing the stage with Rafael Amargo.

Nazaret has performed in international theatres such as the Irvine Barclay Theatre California, or the Flamenco Festival in New Mexico, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Mont de Marsan or Rivesaltes in France, and she has presented her own shows at the Contemporary Iberian Festival in Querétaro, in Mexico City and at the Gypsy Flamenco Festivals in San Francisco and New York.

She has also participated in numerous well-known festivals in Spain, such as the Flamenco Comes from the South Festival, the Festival of Young Flamenco at the Teatro Conde Duque in Madrid, the Burgos Flamenco Festival, the Seville Flamenco Biennial, the Jerez Festival, Suma Flamenca, etc., not to mention at a large number of clubs (peñas) and tablaos such as the Corral de la Morería or Casa Patas.

She is currently performing as guest artist with the Joaquín Cortés Dance Company, in their show “ESSENCE”.

Nazaret has considerable experience as a teacher: she has given courses overseas from an early age, and she runs her own dance school in Seville.
