Manga Kids Academy: The Expo

From Shin chan to Cardcaptor Sakura, Japanese schools, with all their idiosyncrasies, provide one of the most popular settings for manga and anime series. So, what are schools like in the land of the rising sun?

Visitors to the exhibition Manga Kids Academy: The Expo, organised in collaboration with Ficomic and Manga Barcelona at the Serrería Belga (The Belgian Sawmill), will find lots of information and images of the most characteristic features of Japanese schools. How many levels are there? What are the uniforms like? What do they have for lunch?

An expo that will appeal to all ages - it’s very visual and there’s not that much text, so it’s perfect for younger children - but QR codes will provide brothers and sisters, teenagers, mums and dads and grandparents with much more information.
