Do you think it’s possible to combine the circus arts with a good old fashioned spinning top? Sure you can! That's the premise behind POI, a show that may well be contemporary but which has its roots firmly planted in Mediterranean culture, presented by the circus company from Mallorca, D’Es Tro, which will shortly be spinning into the southern Courtyard at the Condeduque Centre.

POI, Guillem Vizcaino's multi-award-winning debut work, responds to a physical search for juggling and the manipulation of materials, but the spinning tops that the author himself designs and creates are also a work of craftsmanship. This exploration of various types of wood, shapes and points of support has allowed him to create personal and unique spinning tops, such as, for example, one of the largest spinning tops in the world thrown by a single person - it weighs 45 kilos, no less. The artist needs more than 15 metres of rope to throw it.

As an event, POI is just as magical as the spinning top it features. A sensitive work that leaves the audience spellbound.
