Lee Fields presents Sentimental Fool

Lee Fields' career as a soul and funk singer began in the late sixties when he began to work with such bands as Kool and the Gang, Sammy Gordon and the Hip-Huggers and Little Royal. A hard-working musician, some of his singles from that period have since become prized jewels for countless DJs in love with Black music. More hits followed in the seventies, as did collaborations with other artists such as B. B. King and Bobby Womack.

But as has so often been the case with other legends of the genre, he faded from the scene, only to reappear to great acclaim in the 90s. Ever since then, he’s been enjoying a golden age that has produced such impassioned albums as My World (2009) or Faithful Man (2012). And now he’s back! Three years since his last album, he has just released Sentimental Fool (2022), an album that simply oozes classic, authentic soul and marks the culmination of an amazing career that seems to defy gravity, rising to ever greater heights. Fields is without doubt an unstoppable force of nature that we will be able to enjoy in the Central Courtyard of the Condeduque Centre for Contemporary Culture.
