Flamenco
At only 27 years of age, Israel Fernández, a “cantaor” of Andalusian origin now based in La Mancha, is garnering rave reviews and recognition from the public and his own flamenco colleagues. A “cantaor” from an early age, he was only 18 when he recorded his first album and since then he has not stopped refining his technique and extending his knowledge of the classics, from which he drinks without any complex. Sensitivity, personality and precision accompany a passionate and mature style of singing, in spite of his youth. In his latest album, Universo Pastora (2018), he revisits the songs of Pastora Pavón, La Niña de los Peines.
For this current project he is accompanied by guitarist Diego del Morao, one of the most up and coming “tocaores” on the scene today and a member of the admired Morao clan from Jeréz. He has accompanied such figures as José Mercé, Enrique Morente, Diego El Cigala, Niña Pastori and Miguel Poveda, among others. Both Israel and Diego dominate and play with rhythm in a masterly way, in a highly intimate work that sounds totally pure and modern.
