BLOCK PARTY (SKATEBOARD + LOCOPLAYA)
Urban sports / Hip hop
As in recent years, the Veranos de la Villa Festival hasn’t forgotten urban sports, in fact, it’s set aside a dedicated space for them. On this occasion, the chosen sport is skateboarding which for the first time ever will officially takes its place as a sport in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Young people the world over are crazy about this discipline, which first emerged in the 1950s in California, and the pirouettes they perform with their skateboards require unimaginable skills. There are several places in Madrid where skateboard enthusiasts gather spontaneously to practice the sport.
Throughout the evening there will be workshops for beginners and enthusiasts of any level, and two different competitions for more experienced skaters. The night will come to an end with a concert by Locoplaya, the rap group from the Canary Islands that is all the rage among young people. Formed in 2014 by singers Bejo, Don Patricio and Uge, they have their own highly relaxed aesthetics, always with a summery and humorous tone.
